The highest standard for neurodiagnostic technology and intraoperative neuromonitoring programs is signaled by accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
CAAHEP is an accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). CAAHEP collaborates with the Committee on Accreditation for Education in Neurodiagnostic Technology (CoA-NDT) to review and evaluate educational programs in neurodiagnostic technology and intraoperative neuromonitoring. CAAHEP accreditation is a mark of excellence, signaling that a program meets high-quality standards. Graduates of CAAHEP programs also have fewer requirements to qualify for ABRET exam eligibility.

CAAHEP Accredited Programs
ASET strongly recommends enrollment in CAAHEP-accredited programs due to their proven compliance with established standards and guidelines.
Additional programs that are not accredited by CAAHEP but approved by ABRET are available, creating more pathways for ABRET exam eligibility. However, these programs may be limited to employee-only training, do not have the same level of oversight as CAAHEP programs, and include additional requirements for exam eligibility.
