Happy Neurodiagnostic Week
Lary Breeding, R. EEG/EP T., CNIM, St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, Houston, TX, came up with a creative way to promote Neurodiagnostic Week. They used the poster as wallpaper on about 1,000 of their computers, which was be seen by 8,000 to 10,000 people throughout this week at three hospitals, 4 minor emergency centers, and a few other entities around Houston.
To celebrate our profession Clarian Health in Indianapolis, IN decorated two tables of “Main Street” near the main entrance to Methodist Hospital where they gave out information on Neurodiagnostic and the Clarian Neurodiagnostic Program, Brain Erasers, Coffee, Water, Cookies, and a warm reception to anyone who stopped by.
As an appreciation to staff they purchased water bottles, flashlights, and pens that had Clarian Neuroscience, Team Neuro, and Neurodiagnostic Week engraved or printed on them. Then they had a team drawing where three people in the lab won the ASET lighted pens and lunch bag. To end a successful Neurodiagnostic Week they catered in Famous Dave’s BBQ for lunch for any staff who worked that day or wanted to come from home to attend.
To celebrate Neurodiagnostic week at Christiana Care Health Services in Newark, DE they had an open house to offer quick 2-channel EEG's and nerve conduction screenings to visitors. They served fresh fruit and cookies for refreshments and made a lot of people say "Eyyww" with a brain gelatin mold and brain chocolate candy. They also decorated a table in the main lobby near the cafeteria with a poster of what Neurodiagnostic Technologists do, and the brain teasers games. To wrap up the celebration, lunch was provided for the staff.
