Janet Ghigo Award
The Janet Ghigo Award, established in 2005, recognizes a student technologist author of an outstanding article published in The Neurodiagnostic Journal (formerly published as the American Journal of Electroneurodiagnostic Technology) and is named after our long-time Managing Editor, Janet Ghigo. The purpose this award is to encourage students to write articles for The Neurodiagnostic Journal with hopes of mentoring future authors who will continue to write articles once they are practicing in the field. The articles will go through the same review process as any unsolicited article.
To be eligible for the award, the author must be a student in a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited program at the time the article is submitted to the journal. A letter from the program director validating the student’s status and supporting the submission of the article must accompany the article. The guidelines for judging include general usefulness of concepts, preciseness and readability of style, clarity of graphics and illustrations, and adequacy of literature review.
The published articles authored by students have a special heading designating that a student has authored the article. The award winner receives a plaque of recognition and a one-year paid ASET membership. The award recipient is announced at the annual conference and in The Neurodiagnostic Journal.
