This is an intermediate level seminar for technologists who have extensive experience in basic EEG and are now planning to expand their scope of practice to advanced procedures in LTM and continuous EEG in the ICU. The content of this course is designed to provide an overview of concepts that will help technologists prepare for the ABRET CLTM exam, and will also provide essential information for technologists working in a comprehensive epilepsy center.

Course Objectives:
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of seizure patterns and clinical correlations and hear fascinating case studies from comprehensive epilepsy centers
  • Learn about imaging studies typically used as part of a comprehensive LTM work-up and the technologist’s role in these studies
  • Build skills and confidence to assist in the work-up for surgical resection of seizure foci
  • Develop  patient safety and seizure assessment skills to improve patient outcomes  in the LTM setting
  • Gain the skills you need to accept an expanded role as part of the LTM/ICU team

Who should attend?

This seminar is designed for technologists who are experienced in routine EEG studies, and who are facing challenges with expansion of services to continuous monitoring of epilepsy and critical care patients, and those who are planning to take the ABRET CLTM Exam.
