What is included?

This seminar is packed with information and is designed to enhance then foundational knowledge of technologists currently working in the EEG lab. The courses include basic information covering such topics as polarity, filters, waveform measurement, and introduction to patterns. The information presented will be helpful to those preparing to take their ABRET EEG exam. This course is also beneficial to current R. EEG T.s who are looking for a refresher or are in need of CEUs to recertify.

Course Objectives:
  • Be able to explain basic EEG instrumentation, properties of the differential amplifier, and the effect of filters on waveforms
  • State the polarity convention, determine the polarity of waveforms and localize an event in a variety of montages
  • Practice measuring waveform amplitude and duration and demonstrate the function of filters
  • Build skills in EEG waveform recognition through interactive learning

Who should attend?

EEG BOOT CAMP
  • EEG registry exam candidates
  • Entry level techs with some experience who are seeking to build upon their foundational skills and knowledge
  • Those who would like to review and learn more about basic EEG concepts

WANT TO PUSH YOUR SKILLS?

This course is being offered for the first time in response from feedback offered by past attendees. This is an intermediate level seminar for technologists who have extensive experience in basic EEG and are now planning to expand their practice to advanced procedures. The course will cover both LTM (ICU and EMU) and IONM topics relevant to those practicing in Neurodiagnostics. This course is ideal for those preparing for ABRET registry exams in LTM, those needing CEUs for recertification, or technologists looking to explore what’s beyond R. EEG T. The content of the course will cover LTM and IONM related topics but also focus on areas that overlap, i.e. monitoring during epilepsy surgery.

Course Objectives:
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of seizure patterns and clinical correlations and hear fascinating case studies from comprehensive epilepsy centers
  • Learn about imaging studies typically used as part of a comprehensive LTM work-up and the technologist’s role in these studies
  • Build skills and confidence to assist in the work-up for surgical resection of seizure foci
  • Develop  patient safety and seizure assessment skills to improve patient outcomes  in the LTM setting
  • Gain the skills you need to accept an expanded role as part of the LTM/ICU team

Who should attend?

ADVANCED EEG AND LTM COURSE
