This course is designed for Neurodiagnostic professionals and specifically those performing Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring (IONM). It provides a solid foundation of neuroanatomy and neurophysiology to begin training in IONM and is also an excellent preparation for technologists of all levels. Course content includes the central nervous system, brain, and spinal cord. It provides both basic and advanced neuroanatomy and neurophysiology as well as typical signs and symptoms of neurological pathology. There is a focus on structure, function, blood supply, and neuropathways with emphasis areas defined by a series of questions contained in lesson worksheets. The emphasis areas form the basis of a comprehensive understanding of the nervous system that learners will be able to apply to the clinical setting in which they work. You are not expected to master everything in the textbook however completing each lesson’s essay questions is a main focus of this course.
