The Wada test requires the involvement of multi-disciplinary professionals to help determine which side of the brain houses language and memory abilities. The EEG and other findings gleaned during Wada testing help neurosurgeons decide a strategy for epilepsy surgery to minimize the risks for patients with intractable seizures. The critical procedures including the cerebral angiogram, sodium amobarbital or sodium amytal injection, language and memory testing will be discussed as well as the Neurodiagnostic technologist’s role in recognizing EEG changes.
