1. Why do you want to serve as a trustee?
   If elected, I will consider it an honor to serve as ASET’s President Elect. My previous experience serving on the Board of Trustees, and as Chair of ASET Committees and Task Forces has been incredibly rewarding. ft gave me insight into the working of the Society and deeper understanding of issues affecting our members and the neurodiagnostic field. With this knowledge I would like to continue to serve ASET in the way in which I can contribute the most to the neurodiagnostic community.
   If elected, I will add value by bringing thorough knowledge of the field and trends in healthcare, leadership skiffs, and membership perspective. My professional experience includes strategic planning, organizational leadership in addition to clinical work in areas of EEG, long term epilepsy monitoring and cEEG monitoring. I will use my knowledge and skiffs to help ASET lead future generations of neurodiagnostics professionals.
2. How would you define your role as trustee in the context of the current Board job descriptions?
   Board of Trustees assists Executive Committee and ASET leadership with strategic planning, development of goals and establishing governance policies for the society. The role of a Trustee is to identify and monitor issues that are important to the members; discuss, vote, and make decisions on behalf of the society’s members. As a President Elect, I will work closely with ASET Executive Committee, BOT, ASET Committees and ASET staff on implementation of strategic plan as well as guide and assist them in other tasks pertaining to the work of the society. I will serve ASET with loyalty and confidentiality.
3. What are the unique skills you possess that would benefit you in your tenure as a BOT member? How did you develop those skills?
   1. The ability to collaborate with others and work towards common goals is essential in the role of Trustee of ASET. I developed these skiffs while working with colleagues on ASET committees and task forces, as well as in my professional role, collaborating with executive leaders, physicians, hospitals managers, administrators, and vendors. As a Chair of ASET task force for Best Practices in AEEG and cEEG monitoring I invited industry leaders and managers of hospital labs to collaborate together and develop the most comprehensive document, inclusive of different perspectives with the purpose to best serve our patients, physicians, and technologists.
   2. Thorough knowledge of neurodiagnostic field and current trends in healthcare leads to a better understanding of the changing environment in which technologists work, and to better understanding of ASET’s current and future role. For the last ten years I have been fortunate to attend ACNS, AES, ASET and other physician and technologist-led national and regional conferences. I have also been working with technologists and physicians throughout the United States gaining broad perspective on specific needs and neurodiagnostic landscape in the country. Seeing the “big picture’ is important in making decisions as an ASET officer and trustee.
4. What qualities do you feel are important for a BOT member to possess? What experiences have helped you to develop these qualities?
   Integrity, ability to collaborate, listen, and being open to different perspectives, commitment to serving others, prioritizing Society’s and member’s interest above one’s own interest, forward thinking, ability to analyze, prioritize and make ethical decisions are just a few of the qualities a successful leader should possess.
   Many of these qualities are developed through work and volunteering experience. I have had years of volunteering at ASET and /SET as well as professional experience working with patients, technologists and physicians. They taught me to respect different opinions, to be humble but resilient, grateful for opportunities but also to be patient. I was fortunate to work with, and learn from great leaders, mentors, teachers, and peers. While I continue to learn and become a better leader, I also want to help others develop their leadership skills.
5. ASET is actively working to promote increased membership benefits, advocacy, and offer multiple educational opportunities. What other important STRATEGIC goals would you have for ASET if elected?
   1. Promote careers in neurodiagnostics and engage students in the Society’s work.
   2. Engage with the international community-ASET can follow our mission of “improving neurological health and care globally” by involving with the international community. ASET has an opportunity to make a huge impact on the lives of patients in developing countries by providing neurodiagnostic education to local personnel. Growing international membership and providing access to neurodiagnostic education should be a strategic goal for ASET and ABRET.
   3. Advances in technology drive progress in neurodiagnostics and healthcare in general. Al, source imaging, implantable, wearable, and rapid response devices are developed. They can be perceived as a threat or as an opportunity. Through involvement with physician organizations and technology partners, ASET should ensure the role of neurodiagnostic personnel and help technologists advance, learn new skills, and new technologies.
   4. Licensure will provide ultimate job security for technologists.
