ASET Candidate Questions

Why do you want to serve as a trustee?
When you serve on a board, you have the privilege, challenge, and responsibility to understand how everything needs to work together for an organization to accomplish its goals. Over the last several years, I’ve been fortunate to see firsthand the obstacles our field faces that impede our effectiveness, reputation, and potential. Because of this, I have been driven by the mantra, “a rising tide lifts all ships.” Being a member of the BOT will allow me to serve as a voice to ensure we are all working together to break down the barriers and elevate the entire field.
How would you define your role as trustee in the context of the current Board job descriptions?
My role as a trustee will be to listen, learn, bring ideas and experience to the table, and ensure the BOT works to achieve all strategic goals so that ASET continues to be a successful advocate for our field. If ASET succeeds, everyone in the Neurodiagnostic field will benefit.
What are the unique skills you possess that would benefit you in your tenure as a BOT member? How did you develop those skills?
Teamwork mentality, communication, innovation, motivation, and critical thinking skills will benefit me during my BOT tenure. Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to have been inspired by mentors who have given me the training and feedback needed to develop the skills necessary to be successful in the field. I’ve also been very fortunate to work with over 1.000 SNPs nationwide with various education, training, and practices; because of this, I have learned that teamwork and communication are essential for success.
What qualities do you feel are important for a BOT member to possess? What experiences have helped you to develop these qualities?
Confidence, leadership, passion, empathy, humility, and resilience are important qualities of a BOT member. One of the greatest qualities one can have is understanding perspective. A neurodiagnostic team member is one facet of the entire interprofessional team. Over the years, I’ve realized that our success can be greater if we understand each team member’s perspective. Once we understand perspective, we can work together to achieve goals and success.
ASET is actively working to promote increased membership benefits, advocacy, and offer multiple educational opportunities. What other important STRATEGIC goals would you have for ASET if elected?
Any STRATEGIC goals I would have would align with ASETs mission.

- Provide the best experience in the field
- Increase member satisfaction by working to provide members with practical information they can utilize in daily practice
