Little did I know that when I set out on this path over 30 years ago, how great a career this would prove to be.

Along the way, I have gained invaluable knowledge—not only about the field itself but also about medicine as a whole and my own personal growth. As technology continues to evolve and shape our profession, I am committed to making a meaningful impact on its direction. As a trustee, I would work to strengthen and expand our field, fostering greater diversity and resilience. In short, I want to give back and help shape the field that has given me so much.

I thrive both independently and as part of a team, always working to go beyond expectations. I am a dedicated problem-solver who won’t rest until an issue is resolved. Taking initiative comes naturally to me—I’m never content with just clocking in and maintaining the status quo.

I constantly seek opportunities to improve situations, always asking myself, What can I do right now to help? How can I make a difference? This mindset has shaped me into the driven and proactive individual I am today.

A trustee must, above all, be accountable—someone who can be relied upon to show up, contribute, and actively support the organization's mission. They must be a team player, prioritizing the greater good over personal recognition. Effective trustees are good listeners and lifelong learners who value the diverse perspectives of those around them. At the same time, they must have the confidence to voice their opinions and share ideas that drive meaningful progress.

From an early age, I learned the importance of accountability—taking responsibility for my actions, avoiding excuses, and using mistakes as opportunities to grow. Throughout my career, I have worked in settings ranging from small, single-tech labs to large, 24/7 academic institutions. These experiences have reinforced the importance of both humility and advocating for what is needed to achieve success.
