Purpose
To honor an individual, institution, neurodiagnostic program, or industry supplier who, through a body of work, has made a profound impact on the neurodiagnostic profession or advancement in the improvement of quality patient care.
Nomination Criteria
The body of work for which the individual, institution, neurodiagnostic program, or industry supplier is being nominated must encompass at least two of the following six criteria:
- Has made a profound impact on the neurodiagnostic profession
- Contributed to the improvement of quality patient care
- Advanced the practice, art, and science of neurodiagnostics
- Reflects the values, ideals and ethics of the neurodiagnostic profession
- Presents an extraordinary and heightened favorability view of the values and contributions of the neurodiagnostic profession to the general public and community at large, or within the neurodiagnostic profession.
- Represents an extraordinary commitment to the neurodiagnostic profession and/or to ASET – The Neurodiagnostic Society
Process/Guidelines
- An ASET member completes the nomination form. (Members of the Board of Trustees may put forth a nomination following the established nomination procedures, but the board as a whole may not initiate a nomination.)
- Required documentation to accompany the form includes: (a) a one-page letter indentifying the two (or more) nomination criteria achieved; (b) a biography of the candidate, or in the case of an institution, neurodiagnostic program or industry supplier being the nominee, a briefing/history about the entity, not to exceed two pages; (c) a statement of contributions and exhibit(s) in support of the nominee that best demonstrates or exemplifies the body of work for which the nomination is being made; (d) Two letters supporting the nomination by those who know the body of work for which the nomination is being entered (letters should be specific in their recommendation and contain specific reasons for their support of the nomination).
- Nominees who are individuals, neurodiagnostic programs, or institutions do not need to be members of ASET.
- Completed nomination forms and required documentation are to be submitted to the ASET Executive Office by May 30, 2022.
- The ASET Board of Trustees serves as the selection committee for this award.
- No more than one award may be presented in any given year.
- If none of the nominees are adequately outstanding, the award is not required to be presented in a given year.
- The award will be presented at the ASET Annual Conference
- ASET staff and current board members are not eligible for the award. Staff members are eligible for nomination one year after resignation/retirement; board members are eligible for nomination one year after completion of term of office.
