ASET Veterans Outreach
Promote Careers In Neurodiagnostic Technology Get Active with ASET Veterans Outreach
ASET veterans outreach volunteers form a network of industry professionals who promote careers in neurodiagnostic technology in their communities. Through hands-on activities and engaging presentations, volunteers help veterans understand and appreciate the role of neurodiagnostic technology in patient care, and they cultivate relationships in their communities while inspiring others to pursue a career in the field.
Outreach volunteers can also earn one CEU for giving one or more presentations by submitting a CEU request within three weeks of completing a presentation (see the After Your Presentation section below).
What Is a Veterans Outreach Volunteer?
Volunteering for the ASET Veterans Outreach Program is an opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of veterans in your community. By sharing your knowledge, experiences, and passion for neurodiagnostic technology, you play a crucial role in helping veterans discover a new and rewarding career path. You can influence them toward a field that not only values their military skills and dedication but also offers a fulfilling and stable career in healthcare. Volunteering in this program not only serves as a way to give back, but also allows you to be part of a supportive network of professionals committed to empowering veterans. Your involvement can change lives, inspire new career aspirations, and foster a strong sense of camaraderie among those who have served our nation.
Volunteer Activities
Career Ambassadors can choose from the following activities:
1. Presentations: Connect with Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs), Veterans Affairs (VA) Facilities, and Military and Transition Assistance Program (TAP) to schedule a presentation for veterans about careers. This can be as simple as following the ASET PowerPoint or as elaborate as setting up demonstrations (estimated time required: 2 hours/ presentation).
2. Career and veterans job fairs: Participate in a career or job fair in your local area. ASET has the tools and materials you need to set up a table and talk about a career in neurodiagnostics. Download ASET’s career flyer to hand out to veterans (estimated time required: 4–6 hours/ event).
