Neurodiagnostic Week 2026 will take place April 19–25, 2026. This year’s theme is People & Connections. In this industry-wide celebration, we invite all technologists and healthcare professionals to highlight the human connections, teamwork, and community that keep neurodiagnostics moving forward. Like a game of Twister, our field requires balance, adaptability, and strong connections between technologists, patients, and the profession.

Request a Proclamation
A proclamation is an official designation of an event and can be a great way to educate the public about the neurodiagnostic profession.
We encourage you to submit a proclamation request to your local Mayor or Governor of your state.

A proclamation is an official designation of an event and can be a great way to educate the public about the neurodiagnostic profession. The goal of a proclamation is to honor, celebrate, or create awareness of Neurodiagnostic Week.
It is an official announcement or designation of the event issued by a Mayor or Governor to recognize a day, week or month that will have a major citywide impact. It can be an effective tool for gaining public recognition of Neurodiagnostic Week because it carries the full support of a key government official in your state or community.
See the below steps that will help you plan, promote, enhance, and propose a proclamation for Neurodiagnostic Week.

Contact the State or Local Government Office
Each city and county will have their own guidelines and procedures for signing proclamations. The easiest way to research your city or county guidelines is to look on its website and search for the term “proclamation.”

The wheels of government turn slowly, so be sure to begin the proclamation request process at least 30 days in advance of Neurodiagnostic Week, by March 19, 2026, if possible.

Neurodiagnostic Week
Whereas neurodiagnostics is the practice of analyzing and monitoring central and peripheral nervous system function to promote the effective treatment of neurological diseases, injury and impairment; and
Whereas neurodiagnostic technologists play a paramount role in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of neurological conditions, including epilepsy, unexplained coma, sleep disorders, and spinal cord injuries; and
Whereas neurodiagnostic technologists contribute to surgical treatment by monitoring the central and peripheral nervous system during high-risk procedures such as surgery for scoliosis, carotid artery disease, brain tumors, and spine trauma, thereby guarding against neurological complications during surgery and helping reduce risk of negative surgical outcomes such as paralysis or stroke; and
Whereas neurodiagnostic technologists are engaged in life-long learning, dedicated to a life of service and compassion, have the greatest respect for the worth and dignity of individuals, and are devoted to the best interest of the patient while providing the highest quality patient care;

Neurodiagnostic Technologists help to diagnose disorders of the brain, such as epilepsy. They also contribute to treatment by monitoring brain and peripheral nerves during surgery for scoliosis, brain tumors and other orthopedic interventions. Neurodiagnostic Week is that time of year when we honor and celebrate the contributions of neurodiagnostic professionals. It is celebrated annually during the third full week of April. This week-long event is designed to demonstrate pride in the profession and in the individual accomplishments of neurodiagnostic technologists throughout the nation. It is also an excellent opportunity to educate others, recruit new students into the profession and to promote awareness in the community.
Neurodiagnostic Week, organized by ASET – The Neurodiagnostic Society, points out the many ways in which neurodiagnostic professionals work to ensure the health of all Americans through advocacy, education and research. During this week, hospitals, schools and other institutions acknowledge the year-round efforts of neurodiagnostic technologists. In addition, many Neurodiagnostic departments organize creative and innovative activities in their communities to educate and excite people of all ages about the profession by holding open houses, sponsoring special activities for the public and hospital staff, and performing community events. Neurodiagnostic Week offers technologists and educators the opportunity to join forces and focus on a specific message while promoting the profession in a way that individuals seldom can.
