Call for Abstract and Poster Presentations For the 2027 ASET Annual Conference

ASET is looking for presenters at the ASET Annual Conference, which will take place in Orlando, Florida, August 5 – 7, 2027.

The conference is an excellent opportunity for you to advance the science and technical standards of neurodiagnostics by sharing your knowledge and expertise, while positioning yourself as a subject-matter expert. As a presenter, you will:

Share your research through abstract publication in The Neurodiagnostic Journal

Abstract Review

All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the ASET Program Committee and evaluated for accuracy and educational value. Abstracts will undergo a blinded peer-review process to ensure a fair and objective evaluation.

Acceptance notification will be made by email no later than May 1st, 2027.

What is an abstract?

An abstract is a concise summary of your poster or presentation that communicates to attendees the relevance and significance of your work and what they can expect to learn. Given this, abstracts should include the main points of your work and draw the interest of the reader. Describing the potential impact of your work, its importance, or how it fills a gap in current knowledge help draw interest. Research abstracts follow a specific format and include an introduction, the methods used, the results of the study, and a discussion of the findings. Topical review abstracts might include the objective of the review, the reason for selecting the topic, the main outcome and results, and conclusions.

The paper's title should be followed by the authors' names and their institutional affiliations, including institution name, city, and state. If the institution is outside the U.S., please include the country. Please also include educational and professional credentials after the authors' names (M.D., Ph.D., R. EEG T., D.ABNM, etc.). Accepted abstracts will be printed in the conference program and in the conference proceedings in The Neurodiagnostic Journal. An abstract template is available here.

Please adhere to these guidelines when writing your abstract:
- The abstract should be a self-contained, concise summary of your work.
- Avoid including in-text citations, references, illustrations, or images within the abstract.
- Disclose any sources of funding and known or potential conflicts of interest.
- Ethical approval information and the IRB approval number should be included for research studies, including retrospective reviews.
- If AI is used to write the abstract, the name of the tool used must be disclosed. Authors are responsible for reviewing AI-generated text for accuracy. An example disclosure statement and additional information can be found in the Ethical Considerations for Authors section of our Resources for Authors page.
- Research abstracts should follow the structured IMRD format (Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion), while non-research abstracts should be unstructured.

Grammar and mechanics guidelines:
- Abbreviations should not be used in the title of the abstract but may be used in the text. Only use abbreviations in the abstract if a term will be used more than 3 times or if the abbreviation is commonly understood in our field (e.g., EEG, IONM, ABRET). Only capitalize the expanded version of abbreviations if they refer to specific entities, such as an organization. Do not capitalize the expanded versions of abbreviations for tests, procedures, or syndromes (except when the word is a name [e.g., Wada test, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome]).
- It is not necessary to introduce the abbreviations EEG or IONM.
The abstract must be at least 100 words and a maximum of 200 words and must be typed. Disclosures, funding information, and author information are NOT included in the maximum word count.

E. Time, Space, and Material Needs

All platform presentations will be assigned a 20-30 minute time period on the program, with an additional 5 minutes for questions.
Poster presenters are responsible for printing and bringing their poster to the conference. Each poster will be displayed on one side of a 4′ × 6′ standing poster board. ASET will provide a standardized header displaying the poster title and author(s).
Poster presenters are required to be present at their assigned posters during designated presentation times. The poster presentation schedule will be provided to presenters with their acceptance notification.
No handouts are required for platform or poster presentations.

E-POSTERS

In addition to the traditional poster display, poster presenters are required to submit a PDF version of their poster. E-posters will be available for viewing in the conference app as part of the official conference proceedings.

E-Posters must be submitted electronically as a PDF and follow these specifications:

One PowerPoint Slide using the 16:9 ratio resolution setting
Use a sans serif font (example: Arial)
No video
Maximum file size 10 MB
Save the final slide presentation as a .PDF file

H. Signature Statement

I, hereby, represent that my presentation: 1) is original in content and organization, 2) will not promote commercial products or service and 3) will not discuss the pricing of neurodiagnostic services. Furthermore, I, hereby, grant permission to ASET to reprint my abstract in the conference program and The Neurodiagnostic Journal, which will include my name, abstract content and my contact information.
