This self-paced online course instructs the participant through video lectures and reading assignments on the topics of subclinical seizures, technical aspects of cEEG, managing a cEEG program, therapeutic hypothermia in adults, children and neonates, monitoring patients with traumatic brain injury with seizures, and neurological assessments, neurotelemetry and trending of QEEG in the ICU.
Required reading: Epilepsy and Intensive Care Monitoring by Bruce J Fisch, M.D.
Experience level(s): This course is designed to provide instruction and clinical and technical education for use in developing and/or working in an ICU/cEEG program. It is also an excellent preparation for technologists of all levels preparing to take the credentialing exam or is in need of continuing education to refresh their skills.
Schedule: Twenty-one lessons, twelve quizzes, discussion assignments to participate in, and a comprehensive final exam (151 questions).
